Natural Conception After Regulating Cycle Following Birth Control Use–Review

My husband and I had decided we were ready to start a family, and given that we were both young, (in our twenties) I assumed it would be something that happened incredibly quickly. Instead however, I found that after discontinuing the birth control pill, my cycles were extremely irregular and quite long. When months passed without them regulating on their own, I decided to begin acupuncture with the hope that it might help my body recover post birth control pill. Working with Jose, I ended up learning a tremendous amount about my own body and found him to be incredibly informative and supportive.  After several months of acupuncture and only one month of Chinese herbs, I found out I was pregnant!  Overall, I had wonderful results with acupuncture and Chinese herbs and found Family Acupuncture & Herbs of Reading to be a great choice for me given the flexibility with scheduling and the availability of after work hours which made it very possible for me to fit weekly appointments into my schedule. I most definitely recommend Family Acupuncture & Herbs of Reading and plan to go back over the course of my pregnancy should I experience any pregnancy related discomforts.

Natural Conception for 44 year-old PCOS Patient and Husband with Low Sperm Morphology

My husband and I wanted to personally write a testimonial to recognize everything that Jose Ruiz did to help us conceive our perfectly healthy baby boy.
For a range of reasons, we found ourselves at age 42 (both of us), wanting to do all we could to conceive a child.  We explored IVF, but ultimately chose not to pursue fertility treatments.  I had been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), and my husband had low morphology (0%–Kruger Strict Criteria).  We had been trying on our own for 10 months, when, through my own research, I decided that acupuncture and herbs could make a real difference in our ability to conceive.  Through my research, I knew that Jose had studied under Randine Lewis, the author of The Infertility Cure:  The Ancient Chinese Wellness Program for Getting Pregnant and Having Healthy Babies.  I talked it over with my husband, and we both decided that working with Jose could really help us.

We began working with Jose in the Summer of 2012, a few months away from my 44th birthday (my husband was already 44).  Throughout our work with him, he was consistently encouraging, attentive, positive, flexible, and responsive.  From the beginning, he did everything he could to tailor his acupuncture and herb treatments to our unique circumstances.  Through consultations with both of us, he created distinct treatment approaches for both me and my husband.  David only received herbs, while I received both acupuncture and herbs.  He worked with both of us to assess our current vitamin and supplement regimens, adjusting what we were taking to blend optimally with the herbs we were taking.  He also helped us adjust our diet:  low sugar; minimal flour, wheat, and dairy, and caffeine; increases in protein, vegetables, and low-sugar fruits.

Soon, my ovulation signals began to get stronger and stronger.  My husband’s Kruger Strict Criteria morphology went from 0% to 1.5%.  On his own, Jose continued to study precise treatment approaches related to PCOS, to further refine my treatments.  After 10 months of working with Jose, in May of 2013, at age 44, my husband and I naturally conceived.  My pregnancy progressed without any complications related to my age.  I carried our baby to full term (40 weeks), and in February of 2014, gave birth to our perfectly healthy baby boy.

Words can’t describe how grateful we are for everything that Jose did for us.  We can’t recommend him enough to any couple trying to conceive.  Thank you Jose, from the bottom of our hearts!

Natural Conception After Failed IUI and IVF Treatments

I highly recommend Jose and Family Acupuncture & Herbs. I started seeing Jose around Feb 2011 and I was currently a patient at FCNE for irregular cycles. At that time I was undergoing cycles w/ FCNE, so Jose just assisted those cycles w/ acupuncture.  Well, after 3 IUI’s and 2 IVF’s that all failed, I had enough.  I was on a break from fertility treatments and decided to give the herbs a try.  Jose was very professional, answered all my questions and never rushed me.  I did the herbs for about 5 weeks, met with Jose once a week.  Well, after 5 weeks of taking the herbs I found out that  we got pregnant on our own- naturally!!  I was so shocked… speechless!!  We just had our 1st appt. with our OB and we’re due April 1st.  Thank you so much Jose… words cannot express how thankful we are after this long, emotional journey!  To all those reading this that may be in the same situation, keep the faith and it will happen for you!!  After our 2nd failed IVF, I was so devastated and was willing to try the herbs and am so glad we did…. what an experience!!

I began going to Family Acupuncture and Herbs of Reading to help with my infertility.  My husband and I had been through numerous IVF cycles with no success and wanted to try something more natural.  I did multiple months of acupuncture with Jose to prepare my body and began taking Herbs to really give it all we had.  After only taking the Herbs for one month, we got pregnant on our own!!!  I continued the acupuncture through the first trimester to support the pregnancy.  Today we have a healthy 2wk old baby girl! General Fertility Support

I have been a patient of Jose at Family Acupuncture and Herbs since January 2011.  I was referred to Jose from my Doctor.  He has assisted me with Fertility issues. From my visit until presently Jose is a TRUE PROFESSIONAL he always makes me feel like I am the only person in his practice.  He listens and spends the time with you while you are there.  He is also very flexible when I have had to change my appointment he always does whatever he can to fit me in.  I am currently pregnant and owe much of my success to JOSE.  I continue to go to him once a week and I truly look forward to my sessions each week.  You could not find a better practice around.  Thank you JOSE!!!

I have seen Jose over the past few years for various reasons and have always left his office feeling informed, very well cared for and excited for a positive outcome. Successful IVF–Acupuncture for Diminished Ovarian Reserve and Male Factor Treatment with Herbs

I could not be more pleased to write a testimonial as to how great Jose Ruiz is in treating infertility. My husband and I started our infertility journey in December of 2012. I was 38 and he was 42. We went right to IVF for male factor reasons and after I started my first cycle it became clear that I also was a contributing factor to our infertility. I was diagnosed with diminished ovarian reserve and am a poor responder to fertility medication. I went through 4 IVF cycles between December and August 2013. Through each cycle I never had more than 2 eggs fertilize and they weren’t good quality. I decided I needed to regroup and take a break after these failures. I found Jose and Family Acupuncture and set up a consultation. The minute I started talking to Jose I knew I was in the right place. He was so thorough and easy to talk to. He listened to my story and went through my medical history before setting up a plan for me that included herbs and acupuncture. I really felt his plan was tailored to me personally and I always looked forward to my appointments with him. My next cycle with Jose was a world of difference but I still did not find success. Jose encouraged me to have my husband come in and meet with him as he was also a big piece to the puzzle. He found some things to work with my husband on and had him take herbs before our next cycle. I am so happy to say that the next cycle was a success. We ended up pregnant with identical twin girls which were born 2014. Unexplained Infertility (with Natural Conception)

My husband and I were diagnosed with unexplained infertility and conceived our son through IVF in 2009. We decided to try for our second without the help of reproductive technology, but after two and a half years of unsuccessful attempts, we knew we needed help. A friend recommended I see Jose for a consult and I began working with him in January 2014. I saw Jose for acupuncture twice a week and took herbs daily to support my menstrual cycle. My cycles had already been pretty regular so I didn’t experience much change in this area, but I found the acupuncture to be very relaxing and overall felt really good during the 6 months I saw Jose. After 6 months, my husband and I returned to our fertility doctor for updated testing. Once again our tests came back normal and our infertility remained unexplained. Our doctor said that we would be excellent candidates for another cycle of IVF, but we decided against it and went back to Jose with our test results. After reviewing my husband’s testing, Jose immediately recognized low morphology as an area of concern. What was considered “normal” by our doctor was not normal after all. Jose began treating my husband with herbs and after only 2 months, we conceived naturally! I am now 12 weeks into a healthy pregnancy, something I thought I might never experience again, thanks to Family Acupuncture and Herbs of Reading!

Premature Ovarian Failure Diagnosis (with Natural Conception)

When I first came to Jose, I was mentally & physically depleted due to various life stresses.  Despite feeling so down and out, I immediately felt comfortable with Jose.  He offered guidance, knowledge, kindness, support, and hope in a manner that was inviting and non-judgmental.  Jose helped me to navigate the world of blood tests & hormone panels with my western doctors.  He guided me in understanding which tests to request and provided honest & clear insight as to their results.  And he also showed that he truly cared by reaching out to his acupuncture peers to gain other insights as to my ‘condition’.  Jose became an instrumental part of my holistic team of health practitioners who brought be back to optimal health.   After irregular periods and a supposed diagnosis of ‘premature ovarian failure’ with less than a 10% chance of conceiving, within a year I had bounced back and got pregnant naturally!!  I have no doubts that Jose and Family Acupuncture played an integral role in my own little miracle.
